Medaille College is a private liberal arts college located in Buffalo, which is New York state's second most populous city, after New York City, housing within its limits a number of over 270 000 people, as estimated during the 2009 census.
The college was established in 1937 and first started as the Sisters of Saint Joseph, with the original mission to train teachers, its current name being adopted in 1968. It presently offers its students graduate and undergraduate programs, in various fields of study, including an Accelerated Learning Program, which includes undergraduate and graduate business degrees designed for working adults.
Medaille's athletic teams are known as the Mavericks and they compete in NCAA Division III. Their distinctive colors are navy, gold and light blue.
